Monday..A Day of Adventure

On monday we got up early and went to the elephant training camp. Where we saw elephants bathing and I got to feed them. One of them put a hat on me which made for a great picture and we got to watch them in a show. They played soccer and sang and danced and painted for us. It was really sweet. The day didn't end there. We went to a smaller temple and it was very beautiful. We also visited an Orchid farm but unfortunatly the orchids aren't in season so it was kind of lame. We had more time so we went to the Monkey Center were I got to see another show. The monkey shook my hand, gave me a kiss and could even slam dunk a basketball. It was really fun and I got pictures with the monkeys on my lap. It was a busy but thrilling day. The day ended when we went to a nice Chinese Restaurant and got four dishes and three bowls of rice and bottled water and tea for four people for the equivalent of 15 dollars. When we got home my host mother and I watched Twilight and she got really into it which was fun. Since the house in Chiang Mai only has two rooms because it's where the kids live to go to school in Chiang Mai my host mother and I had to share a bed. Before we went to sleep she said would you be scared if your boyfriend was a vampire. It was so funny and I finally feel we are starting to bond. The whole way back home today we talked about vampires and werewolves it was so funny. Today is my host sisters 10th birthday so we are going to grandma's for dinner and cake, it should be fun. I did find out that I'm 3 hours away from any other exchange student but that is ok. We will see each other about once a month and I can't wait for what the year has to bring. It started off rough but every day it is getting better.

Until Later, Dacotah Smith
