Third Host Family

Last night I visited my third house and found it to be very empty. It four floors and only the second one is used. The top floor has a room full of Buddha statues but other than that nothing, no furniture. They were all in the Buddha room and before they left they all got down on their hands and knee's and prayed and not to be rude I did it also but as they were mumbling a prayer I said dear God please forgive me for bowing to false idols. Sometimes it's hard to keep my religion separate from theirs.
I told my host mother I had a sore throat the other day and she took me to the pharmacy to get something for it. Yesterday she wanted to take me to the doctor and I kept saying no I'm fine my sore throat went away. Today I wake up and my nose is stuffy and my voice sounds like a man's, I guess were going to the doctor after all.
Right outside the Pharmacy is the Rodee stand and we had an order of them to get for all my host mother's workers. Turns out the lady who runs the stand decided to take a day off and wasn't there last night, it was tragic.

  1. hope you are getting better… sore throat is not a lot of fun its just uncomfortable and difficult to swallow.

usually, i would take the Nim Jiom Cough Syrup (www.geocities.jp/ninjiom_hong_kong/index_e.htm ) which has a thick consistency formulation. it coats the throat and includes herbs that are particularly good for that application.

i hope it works on you as well.
