Last night I went to my second Rotary Meeting. We left the house at about 7:30 and got there and ate dinner. Then the meeting started. My host mother and second host mother are the only women in the club and the rest of the club consists of men over the age of fifty. They are all really nice and like to joke a lot. However it's all in Thai so every once in a while my host mother fills me in. After that we stopped at 7-11 and I got myself some snacks. Outside the Rodee stand was still set up so I got a Rodee too. A great way to end a night, but when I got home and showered not only had the shower awakened me but the sugar kept me up pretty late. The food at the Rotary Meeting was very spicy, to the point of me in tears and needless to say it gave me heart burn all night and all morning. I'm finally getting used to the school day. I got my itinerary for the trip next month and it looks amazing. We get to go rafting, where you stand on a bamboo raft and steer with a long bamboo stick. I can't wait!!! We also get to go on a dinner cruise!!! The boys in my class are much nicer here, and more mature than the girls which is new to me. They are all such gentlemen which is a nice change. A girl from class invited me to her house and said she would take me some places this weekend. I'm starting to finally get the hang of things!

I don't know if I could do the spicy food there. Too much for my Swedish taste buds. LOL. What's a 'Rodee?' The trip sounds like fun with all that stuff. I know you said how long you'd be gone but I've forgotten. I find it funny that yaou can have a 7-Eleven in Thailand but we don't have any up here. No Circle K's either. I guess I should be happy with SuperAmerica and Holiday.
ReplyDeleteAh well, have a great day and enjoy those gentlemanly guys in your class. A pleasant change!!

Sounds like a fun weekend is planned and a great rotary trip. Maybe your mom should send you some rolaids in case of future heart burn attacks. Our son Nic, got engaged on Labor day weekend. The wedding won't be until fall of 2012. Ben starts at Dunwoody on Oct. 4, I think he is looking forward to it, tired of his fulltime job. I'm planning to pal around with your mom at Nickle Dickle on Saturday. We are off to Pittsburgh to visit Matthew next weekend. Love and Prayers, Linda
